Did your students forget the basics over break? Is that one class making ridiculous mistakes after too much TikTok over vacation? Do they need a good review?
Never fear, element spotlight is here!
This series of warmups reviews basic chemistry skills – reading the periodic table, APEMAN, finding valence electrons, drawing Bohr models, and reading for understanding. While I like challenging my students in class, they all need a little reinforcement of the fundamentals. This has an added bonus of introducing some background information about common (and less common) elements to their vocabulary, without asking anyone to “memorize the periodic table”.
Where Can I Find These?
Here is the ‘Warmups’ section on my TPT store! You can get them all in a discounted bundle, or try one at a time.
What Elements Are Available?
Helium, Boron, Nitrogen, Neon, Aluminum, and Silver.
Helium is available as a free sample – click the thumbnail below to try it out!
So far, I’ve made 6 – and I’m working on more for the new semester.
Can I Request One?
Comment here or on TPT if you want an element bumped to the top of the priority list.
